Cheeseball is one of my all time favorite foods. Most afternoons, when I was in high school, I’d get home and mix together cream cheese, pepperoni, worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder and seasoned salt. I would use a knife and completely cover mini round tortilla chips with my quick cheeseball. Note, the entire chip surface needed to be covered by cheeseball, it changed the flavor in the best way, believe me. It was SO GOOD! Fast forward a few (a lot) of years and I’m still in love with cheeseball. This Beef and Onion Cheeseball is my go-to cheeseball now.
Philadelphia cream cheese is my all time favorite because it’s amazing and creamy, slightly tangy and 100% perfect. The hot sauce does NOT make this spicy, it just adds a little something to the flavor. It is optional, and a personal preference. I’ve been known to replace the beef with pepperoni or salami in a pinch.
Okay, so it doesn’t get much easier than this. Mix everything, except the beef, cheddar cheese and green onions. After those ingredients are thoroughly combined, it’s time to add in the beef, cheddar cheese and green onions. Done! To roll into a ball, put cling wrap into a bowl, next add the cheeseball, then gather the cling wrap, pick up out of the bowl and form into a ball. Open the cling wrap and place the cheeseball down onto a plate or bowl with the nice round side on top. Perfect!
