I am a HUGE fan of these perfect garlic cheddar biscuits with fresh milled flour. Easy, delicious and cheesy! They are a tasty addition to any meal, think soup, casserole, slow cooker creations or a big salad. Tonight, these tender biscuits were a delightful part of a baked spaghetti dinner, taking a weeknight meal to the next level. To reheat, just pop in the microwave for 15 seconds and these biscuits taste like they’re fresh from the oven.
*On a side note, I want to give a quick shout out to the lovely pottery bowl in the pictures. Pottery is a love of mine, mixing my two favorite things, art and food. I like to collect pottery during our travels. This bowl has a perfect little pour spout and beautiful colors. During everyday life, this bowl lives on the coffee bar as a filter holder. It’s from Pigeon River Pottery in Pigeon Forge, TN. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Super Easy Steps
Mill the wheat berries directly into a medium bowl. I measure the two kinds of wheat berries in grams, then mill them all together.
Add the rest of the dry ingredients to the bowl of flour and give it a quick whisk.
Mix in the melted butter, buttermilk and shredded cheese, just until it all comes together.
Drop the dough into 8-10 round biscuits and bake. They only take 11-12 minutes, depending on your oven and how big you make the biscuits. I make 10 medium sized biscuits.
Once they are golden brown and baked, pull them out of the oven and brush with a mixture of garlic powder, butter, parsley and salt.
See how many you can stuff into your mouth at once. Just kidding, one at a time is best.
