So, do you remember this amazing french bread recipe made with fresh milled flour? I have a french bread topping solution and easy weeknight meal all in one, a cheesy and delicious weeknight french bread pizza. I keep these french bread loaves in the freezer (for up to 3 months) and get one out the morning I want to make this quick pizza.
Steps for weeknight french bread pizza
This pizza couldn’t be easier, but it does require a double bake to avoid a soggy french bread pizza. Mix together butter, olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and sea salt and spread over the bread. Top with the parmesan cheese and complete your first bake. Then add pizza sauce, followed by cheese and toppings, bake again and then enjoy the tastiness!
20-30 pepperonis and any other topping you’d like.
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
Cut the french bread loaf in half. Place cut side up on a metal baking sheet, lined with parchment paper, set aside.
In a small bowl combine softened butter, olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and sea salt. Spread evenly over the bread. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup per french bread loaf half. Bake for 7-8 minutes, until just crispy around the edges.
Remove from the oven and add the pizza sauce, followed by mozzarella cheese, pepperoni and desired toppings. Return to the oven and bake for another 10-12 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let sit 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
