Spoiler alert, this post has nothing to do with food. But I wanted to share one of my other loves, cross stitch! I enjoy creating things, making something delicious, or beautiful in this case. Anything that keeps my hands and mind busy makes me happy. This activity has topped my hobby list for over 20 years!
Cross stitch is my go to activity while I’m watching TV and/or having a lazy afternoon. I’ve been able to create a few of my own patterns (below). We have a local frame shop that does a lovely job. I’d like to learn how to do the framing myself just for fun = 2026 goals.
I exclusively use DMC embroidery floss. I like to stitch on both Aida and Linen. I’d recommend Aida 14 count for beginners. The DMC website has a great selection of fabric and floss, along with many free cross stitch patterns.
Below are a few original cross stitches that I designed and stitched. My favorite subjects are the beach, flowers, sunrises/sunsets and nature.
You can contact me from the home page, or comment below, if you have any questions or want more information on how to get started stitching.
